Sufi Events in Athens

Sufi Hadra/Dhikr We regularly host nights of Sufi spiritual practice at our home in Athens, Georgia. We meet once every 2-4 weeks, usually on a Friday or Saturday night. Sufi Hadra is a traditional way to worship God. It purifies the ego, heart, soul and spirit through the recitation of sacred phrases. It feels great and stimulates spiritual growth at the same time!

The Name of God - Allah!

The evening usually goes something like this:

7:00 pm - People arrive and socialize
7:30 pm - Read and discuss a teaching from one of Sidi's books
8:00 pm - Al-wird chanting practice
8:30 pm - Hadra (standing remembrance)
9:00 pm - Sit around, drink tea, and chat until people are ready to go home!

This event is free, so bring your friends, family, or anyone you think might be interested. If you feel so inclined, you may bring a healthy snack to share with the group.
